The Dining Hall
Directly accessible from the Grand Hall, the Dining Hall presents your first real encounter with the Lady Dimitrescu's daughters. This area is crucial for progressing through the castle, as it holds a key item necessary for unlocking further sections. Prepare for a tense confrontation and be ready to use your environment to your advantage.
Upon entering, you'll immediately notice the opulent, yet unsettling, atmosphere. Your primary objective here is to locate the Crimson Glass, which is essential for solving the Bell Puzzle in the Grand Hall. However, obtaining it won't be straightforward.
- As you step into the Dining Hall, a cutscene will trigger, introducing you to one of Lady Dimitrescu's daughters. She will patrol the area, making direct engagement risky.
- Head to the far end of the room, past the large dining table. On a small cabinet or shelf, you will find the Crimson Glass.
- The moment you pick up the Crimson Glass, the daughter will become aggressive and initiate an attack.
- Your best strategy here is to avoid direct combat if possible. The daughters are vulnerable to cold. Look for a large, boarded-up window in the Dining Hall.
- Use your weapon (shotgun is recommended for quick action) to break the boards on the window. This will expose the room to the freezing outside air.
- Lure the daughter into the cold air near the broken window. She will become temporarily frozen and vulnerable. This is your window of opportunity to inflict sificant damage or escape.
- Once you have the Crimson Glass, your immediate goal is to return to the Grand Hall to continue with the Bell Puzzle. Be mindful that the daughter may still be active or another may appear as you exit.
