The Rooftops
After navigating the treacherous upper floors and perhaps even a close encounter with one of Lady Dimitrescu's daughters, you'll find yourself venturing out onto the exposed Rooftops. This section of Castle Dimitrescu offers a brief but intense change of pace, requiring careful movement and awareness of your surroundings. While seemingly a path to escape or a shortcut, the rooftops are not without their dangers and hidden secrets.
Your primary objective here is to traverse the precarious ledges and crumbling structures to reach a new area of the castle. Keep an eye out for valuable resources and potential ambush points. The open air might feel like a reprieve, but the threat of airborne enemies or falling debris is ever-present. This guide will help you navigate this elevated pathway safely and efficiently.
- Exiting the Attic: Once you've completed the puzzle or defeated the enemy in the preceding attic area, a door or window will lead you directly onto the rooftops. Take a moment to survey your surroundings.
- Initial Ledge Walk: The first section involves a narrow ledge. Walk slowly and carefully. There are no immediate threats here, but a misstep can lead to a fatal fall.
- Encountering Crows: As you progress, you'll likely encounter several Crows perched on the ledges or flying nearby. These enemies are easily dispatched with a single pistol shot, but they can be annoying if they distract you during critical jumps. Consider using your knife to conserve ammo if they are close enough.
- The Broken Bridge: You'll come across a section where a bridge or walkway is broken. Look for an alternate path, usually involving a jump or a climb down to a lower section.
- Hidden Supplies: Keep an eye out for sparkling objects. There's often a small cache of Handgun Ammo or Lei tucked away in a corner or on a lower platform that requires a slight detour.
- Reaching the Next Tower: Your ultimate goal on the rooftops is to reach an entrance to another section of the castle, typically a tower or a different wing. This usually involves a final jump or a ladder descent.
- Beware of Falling Debris: In some areas, environmental hazards like crumbling masonry might block your path or fall unexpectedly. Be prepared to react quickly.
