Resource management is the single most critical skill in Resident Evil. Every bullet, every herb, and every inventory slot counts. Mastering this will significantly increase your chances of survival.

- Ammo Conservation: Don't shoot every enemy. Learn which enemies can be evaded (e.g., slow zombies in open areas) and which require immediate attention. Use your Handgun for standard zombies, and save Shotgun/Magnum ammo for tougher foes and bosses.
- Herb Combinations: Always combine herbs to maximize their healing potential and save inventory space. Three Green Herbs or a Green + Red Herb provide a full heal.
- Item Box Strategy: Use Item Boxes frequently. Only carry what you absolutely need for the immediate area. Store key items once they've served their purpose.
- Burning Corpses (Chris): As Chris, always burn zombie corpses in high-traffic areas to prevent Crimson Heads. This saves more ammo and health in the long run.
- Lockpick vs. Small Keys (Jill): As Jill, prioritize using your Lockpick on drawers to save inventory space from Small Keys.
Think ahead: what items will you need for the next puzzle or boss fight? Plan your inventory accordingly before venturing into new, dangerous areas.
