These items are purely cosmetic and do not influence gameplay performance, ensuring a level playing field for all competitors. There are five primary categories of collectibles in Rocket League:
- Decals: These are skins and patterns that cover the exterior of your car body, ranging from simple paint jobs to complex animated dess.
- Wheels: The tires and rims of your vehicle can be customized with a vast array of dess, from classic to futuristic.
- Rocket Trails: These are the visual effects that trail behind your car when you use boost, adding flair to your aerial maneuvers.
- Toppers: These are accessories that sit on top of your car, such as hats, antennas, or quirky figurines.
- Goal Explosions: Unique animations that play when you score a goal, ranging from simple bursts of light to elaborate fireworks.
Collectibles are obtained through various in-game methods. The Rocket Pass provides a tiered progression system where players unlock new items as they gain experience. Item Crates, which can be earned or purchased, contain a random assortment of items from different categories. The Item Shop offers rotating selections of specific items for direct purchase. Furthermore, You can engage in trading with each other to exchange items, allowing for the acquisition of desired collectibles.
The rarity of collectible items varies sificantly, impacting their availability and desirability. Items are typically classified into tiers such as Common, Uncommon, Rare, Very Rare, Import, Exotic, and Black Market. Black Market items are the rarest and often the most sought after.
