Creating and linking your Rocket League account is a fundamental step for accessing the full range of features the game offers, especially its cross-platform capabilities and progression systems. Whether you're a new player or migrating from another platform, understanding this process ensures a seamless experience.

Rocket League, being a free-to-play title, utilizes an account system that allows for progression tracking, inventory management, and cross-platform play. The primary account system used is the Epic Games Account.

Creating an Epic Games Account:

If you don't already have an Epic Games Account (used for Fortnite, Fall Guys, etc.), you'll need to create one. This account serves as your central hub for all Epic Games titles.

  1. Visit the Epic Games Website: Go to the official Epic Games website.
  2. S Up: Click on the 'S Up' button.
  3. Choose a Method: You can s up using your email address, or by linking existing accounts from platforms like PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam, or Google.
  4. Provide Information: If sing up with email, you'll need to provide your display name, email address, password, date of birth, and agree to the terms of service.
  5. Verify Your Email: You'll receive a verification email. Click the link within the email to confirm your account.

Linking Your Rocket League Account (if applicable):

If you previously played Rocket League on a platform other than PC (e.g., PlayStation, Xbox, Switch) and want to link your progress and inventory to an Epic Games Account, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Epic Games Account Linking Page: Navigate to the official Epic Games account linking page.
  2. Log In: Log in with your Epic Games account credentials.
  3. Select Platform: You will be prompted to link your console account (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Account). Follow the on-screen instructions to authorize the link.
  4. Enable Cross-Platform Progression: Once your accounts are linked, you can enable cross-platform progression. This allows your inventory, Rocket Pass progress, and competitive rank to be shared across all platforms you play on. You'll typically set your Epic Games Account as your 'Primary Account' for progression.

Linking Your Epic Games Account to Rocket League (First Time PC Players):

When you first launch Rocket League on PC via the Epic Games Store, you will be prompted to log in with your Epic Games Account. This automatically links your game progress to that account.
