Tutorials & Free Play Immersion

Rocket League is a physics-based vehicle soccer game where teams compete to score the most points. This guide section covers initial steps for new players, focusing on understanding game mechanics and item customization. Players can collect five categories of items: Decals, Wheels, Rocket Trails, Toppers, and Antennas to personalize their vehicles.

New players can familiarize themselves with the game's physics and controls through tutorials and free play. This practice is crucial for mastering vehicle movement and ball control before engaging in competitive matches.

Item Customization

Rocket League offers extensive vehicle customization through collectible items. These items are purely cosmetic and provide no in-game advantages. Some examples of collectible wheels include:

  • Tremor Wheels: Released on March 11, 2020, these are Exotic wheels.
  • X-Tempo Wheels: Released on February 23, 2021, these are Deluxe and Import wheels.

Certain vehicle bodies also have unique acquisition methods:

  • Mario NSR: Available only on the orange team for Switch users and unlocked by default.
  • Luigi NSR: Available only on the blue team for Switch users and unlocked by default.
  • Samus' Gunship: Unlocked for Switch users by completing matches.

Some vehicle bodies, such as those that were Premium Content or Common bodies before the Free To Play update, became Legacy quality with Patch v1.81. These Legacy items are cross-platform.
