Vehicles
In Rocket League, your vehicle, often referred to as a 'Battle-Car,' is your primary tool for navigating the arena and interacting with the ball. While the game features a wide variety of car bodies, it's important to understand that all vehicles within the same Body Type share identical dimensions, hitboxes, and turning radii. This means that the choice of car body is purely a matter of personal preference and aesthetics, not performance advantage.
Rocket League offers a diverse roster of vehicle bodies, categorized by their rarity and origin. The game starts players with a selection of Base rarity cars, which are unlocked through gameplay. As players progress, they can acquire Import, Exotic, and even Black Market rarity vehicles through Blueprints, the Item Shop, or the Rocket Pass. Some vehicles are also exclusive to certain platforms or were part of special promotional bundles, such as licensed cars from popular media franchises like Batman or Fast & Furious.
Each vehicle body is assed to one of six distinct Body Types: Octane, Dominus, Plank, Hybrid, Breakout, and Takumi. These types dictate the car's fundamental dimensions and how it interacts with the ball and the environment. For instance, the 'Octane' type is known for its balanced characteristics, making it a popular choice among professionals. Understanding these body types can help players find a car that feels comfortable and intuitive to control, even though the performance differences are negligible.
