The "First Blood" achievement in Rogue Company is awarded for securing the very first elimination of a match. This might seem straightforward, but it requires a combination of awareness, positioning, and a bit of luck. The achievement is obtainable across all platforms: PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. The key to consistently achieving "First Blood" lies in understanding spawn points and common early engagement areas on various maps. For instance, on maps like Docks, teams often converge towards the central objective or a key flanking route early on. Identifying where the enemy team is likely to push from is crucial.
A common strategy involves pushing slightly ahead of your team at the start of a round, but not so far as to be isolated. Your goal is to catch an enemy player who is also attempting an aggressive early push or is perhaps lagging slightly behind their team. Utilizing a Rogue with good mobility or a strong starting weapon can be advantageous. For example, a Rogue like Ronin, with her speed and a reliable starting weapon like the Executioner, can be effective in closing the distance quickly. Alternatively, a Rogue with a powerful long-range weapon, such as Phantom with her DMR, can attempt to secure a pick from a distance if an enemy is exposed during the initial movement phase.
It's important to remember that "First Blood" is awarded for the *first* elimination of the entire match, not just the first elimination in a specific round. This means you need to be the one to get the kill before any other player on either team. This often involves anticipating enemy movement and pre-aiming common angles. For example, if you know the enemy team typically pushes through a certain doorway on Canal, positioning yourself to have a clear line of sight as they emerge can lead to an easy first kill. Communication with your team can also play a role; if a teammate spots an enemy pushing alone, you can coordinate to intercept them.
Be mindful of the game mode. In modes like Strikeout, where respawns are active, securing the first elimination is still the objective for this achievement, but the overall flow of the game is different from modes like Demolition.
