Coordinated Pushes & Defenses
Success in Rogue Company is heavily reliant on coordinated pushes and defenses, especially in objective-based game modes like Demolition and Strikeout. A coordinated push involves the entire team advancing on an objective simultaneously, overwhelming the enemy's defenses through sheer force and synchronized ability usage. This requires clear communication and a shared understanding of the objective's layout and potential enemy positions. For instance, when attacking a bomb site in Demolition, one player might use an ability like Vy's 'Poison Cloud' to deny an entry point, while another player, perhaps with a weapon like the D3-NRW, provides suppressing fire. Simultaneously, other teammates can use utility items like flashbangs or smoke grenades to disorient defenders and create an opening for entry. The key is to avoid piecemeal assaults, where individual players push forward alone and are easily picked off. Instead, the team should move as a unit, covering each other's angles and supporting each other's engagements. This synchronized approach maximizes the effectiveness of each Rogue's kit and ensures that the team can overcome even the most entrenched enemy positions.
Conversely, coordinated defenses are equally vital for securing objectives. When defending a site, teams must establish clear roles and communication channels to anticipate enemy movements and react accordingly. This might involve setting up crossfires, utilizing deployable defenses like Anvil's 'Barricade,' or positioning players to cover different entry points. For example, on a map like High Castle, defenders might position one player on a high vantage point to provide overwatch, another to hold a key choke point, and a third to watch for flanks. The use of utility items is also crucial in defense; a well-placed smoke grenade can obscure an enemy push, while a well-timed EMP from Gl1tch can disrupt enemy abilities. Communication is paramount here, with defenders constantly relaying information about enemy positions, the number of attackers, and their suspected intentions. A common mistake is for defenders to become too static; even in a defensive posture, teams should be prepared to rotate and reinforce other areas of the map as needed. The goal of a coordinated defense is to create a layered system of engagement, making it as difficult and costly as possible for the enemy to achieve their objective, ultimately leading to their defeat and securing victory for your team. The synergy between offensive and defensive coordination is what defines a truly elite Rogue Company squad.
