Armor & Resistances

Understand Salt and Sanctuary armor: Light, Medium, Heavy, and their impact on physical/elemental resistances and equip load for optimal defense.

·Multi-source verified (91/96)

Armor in Salt and Sanctuary provides physical and elemental damage reduction, as well as resistance to various status effects (poison, bleed, curse, fire, lightning, holy, arcane). Armor is categorized into Light, Medium, and Heavy. Light Armor offers minimal protection but allows for a fast roll, crucial for Dexterity builds. Medium Armor provides a balanced defense, while Heavy Armor offers the highest physical protection but significantly increases your equip load, potentially leading to a slow roll or fat roll if your Endurance isn't high enough. Always aim to stay below 25% equip load for a fast roll, or below 50% for a medium roll. Prioritize armor with resistances relevant to the area you're exploring or the boss you're fighting. For example, fire resistance is crucial in areas with fire-based enemies. Upgrading armor at a Blacksmith increases its defensive properties.
