Entering the Red Hall

From the Sanctuary in the Hager's Cavern, head right. You'll encounter a series of platforms leading upwards. Be wary of the Split Swordsmen and Court Sorcerers in this area. Continue right until you reach a long descending slope. At the bottom, you'll find the entrance to the Red Hall of Cages.

Main Path Walkthrough

  1. Initial Descent and First Lever: Upon entering, you'll be on a high ledge. Drop down to the right. You'll immediately face a few Bound Arrox. These enemies are slow but hit hard; dodge their attacks and counter. Continue right and drop down again. You'll find a lever. Pull it to open a gate further below.
  2. Lower Levels and Hidden Items:
    • After pulling the first lever, head left. You'll encounter more Bound Arrox and potentially a Whisperlady. Defeat them and look for a hidden path leading down to the left, often obscured by the environment. This path leads to a chest containing a Stone Alchemist.
    • Return to the main path and continue right, dropping down through the now-open gate. You'll land on a platform with a Bag of Salt.
  3. The Cage Gauntlet: This section is characterized by numerous hanging cages and platforms.
    • Proceed carefully, as Emberskulls often patrol these areas. Their fire attacks can be devastating.
    • Look for a series of platforms leading upwards and to the right. You'll find a Gray Pearl on one of these ledges.
    • Further right, you'll encounter a Crypt Keeper guarding a path. These enemies are tough; try to bait out their attacks and punish their recovery.
  4. Second Lever and Shortcut: Beyond the Crypt Keeper, you'll find another lever. Pulling this lever opens a shortcut back to the beginning of the Red Hall, near the first drop-off point. This is an excellent opportunity to return to a Sanctuary if needed.
  5. Path to the Boss: Continue past the second lever, heading downwards and to the right. You'll navigate through more cage platforms and encounter additional Bound Arrox and Emberskulls. Eventually, you'll reach a large, open area. This is the arena for the area's boss.

Boss Battle: The Disemboweled Husk

The Disemboweled Husk is a formidable foe. Here's a breakdown of its attacks and strategies:

  • Attacks:
    • Ground Slam: The Husk will raise its arms and slam them down, creating a shockwave. Roll through this attack.
    • Charge: It will charge across the arena. Dodge or jump over it.
    • Projectile Barrage: The Husk can launch a series of slow-moving projectiles. These are easily dodged by rolling.
    • Grab Attack: A dangerous attack where it attempts to grab you, dealing significant damage. This is telegraphed by a brief wind-up; roll away immediately.
  • Strategy:
    • The Husk is slow but powerful. Focus on dodging its attacks and getting in quick hits.
    • Its back is often a safe spot. Try to roll behind it after its ground slams or charges.
