Gaoh is a formidable boss known for his armored attacks and powerful, wide-reaching sword swings. He can be incredibly difficult to approach due to his super armor on many of his moves, meaning he won't flinch from your attacks. Phases: Gaoh's aggression and the frequency of his armored attacks increase as his health drops. He will also start using his unblockable charge attack more often. Weaknesses: While armored, Gaoh is still vulnerable to throws and Weapon Flip Techniques. His recovery frames after certain heavy attacks, especially his overhead swings, are long enough to be punished. Strategy: Patience is paramount. Do not try to trade hits with his armored attacks; you will lose. Instead, focus on baiting out his armored moves, blocking them, and then punishing his recovery with your most damaging combos or a heavy slash. Utilize throws frequently, as they bypass his armor. If you have a full Weapon Flip Gauge, a well-timed Weapon Flip can disarm him and remove his armor, making him much easier to deal with. Save your Rage Explosion for a guaranteed Lightning Blade when he's open. Rewards: Defeating Gaoh typically concludes a character's story and grants a significant amount of in-game currency.
