Spirit Emblem Farming Strategies
Spirit Emblems are a vital resource in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, consumed by most Prosthetic Tools and Combat Arts. Running out of Emblems can severely limit your combat options, especially during difficult boss encounters. Efficient farming is key to ensuring you always have the resources you need.
Early Game Farming (Ashina Outskirts)
The Ashina Outskirts, particularly around the Ashina Outskirts - Stairway and Gate Path Sculptor's Idols, offer a decent early-game farming route. Enemies here are relatively weak and drop a small number of Emblems.
- Start at: Ashina Outskirts - Stairway Idol.
- Path: Head towards the gate where General Naomori Kawarada is located.
- Enemies: Defeat the two soldiers guarding the gate and the archer on the wall.
- Continue: Proceed through the gate and defeat the soldiers in the courtyard.
- Return: Rest at the Idol and repeat.
This route yields approximately 4-6 Spirit Emblems per run and takes about 1-2 minutes. It's a reliable way to build a small reserve early on.
Mid-Game Farming (Ashina Castle Area)
Once you gain access to Ashina Castle, more efficient farming routes become available. The enemies here are tougher but drop more Emblems and Sen.
- Start at: Ashina Castle Gate - Front Idol.
- Path: Head up the stairs and clear the soldiers and archers in the courtyard.
- Continue: Proceed into the castle grounds, defeating any patrolling samurai.
- Optional: If you've cleared the area, you can also farm the enemies leading up to General Tenzen Yamauchi.
- Return: Rest at the Idol and repeat.
This route can yield 8-12 Spirit Emblems and a good amount of Sen. It's more time-consuming but significantly more rewarding.
Late Game / New Game Plus Farming (Senpou Temple)
Senpou Temple, especially the area around the Senpou Temple, Mt. Kongo Idol, offers some of the most efficient Spirit Emblem farming spots. The monks and soldiers here are numerous and drop a decent amount.
- Start at: Senpou Temple, Mt. Kongo Idol.
- Path: Head down the path towards the temple grounds.
- Enemies: Focus on defeating the monks and soldiers in the main temple area and the surrounding paths.
- Return: Rest at the Idol and repeat.
This route can yield upwards of 15-20 Spirit Emblems in a relatively short time. In New Game Plus, the enemies will respawn with increased health and damage, but the Emblem drops will also be higher.
General Tips for Spirit Emblem Farming:
- Stealth Kills: Utilize stealth whenever possible to conserve health and avoid unnecessary combat.
- Combat Arts: Some Combat Arts can clear groups of enemies quickly, making farming more efficient.
- Item Drops: Always pick up all item drops, as they often include Emblems, Sen, and crafting materials.
- Resting at Idols: Remember that resting at a Sculptor's Idol respawns all enemies and refills your healing gourd, but also resets your Spirit Emblem count if you've used any.
