Attack Power enhancement is a core progression mechanic in Sekiro, allowing players to increase the damage Sekiro deals with his sword and prosthetic tools. This is achieved by using Memories obtained from defeating main bosses, which are then consumed at the Dilapidated Temple to bolster Sekiro's offensive capabilities.
How to Enhance Attack Power
Attack Power is increased by using Memories. These are special items dropped by the main story bosses upon their defeat. After acquiring a Memory, you must return to the Dilapidated Temple and speak with the Sculptor. He will offer to use the Memory to enhance Sekiro's Attack Power.
The Process of Enhancement
- Defeat a Main Boss: Progress through the story and defeat a primary boss. They will drop a unique Memory item.
- Return to the Dilapidated Temple: Travel back to the temple using a Sculptor's Idol or a Homeward Idol.
- Speak to the Sculptor: Interact with the Sculptor and select the option to 'Enhance Attack Power.'
- Consume the Memory: Choose the Memory you wish to use. The Sculptor will then perform the enhancement.
Each Memory consumed permanently increases Sekiro's base Attack Power. This means all of Sekiro's attacks, including sword strikes and prosthetic tool damage, will deal more damage.
List of Memories and Their Sources
The specific Memories and the bosses that drop them are:
| Memory | Source Boss | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Memory: Genichiro | Genichiro Ashina | Ashina Castle |
| Memory: Father | The Owl (Father) | Hirata Estate (Second Encounter) |
| Memory: True Corrupted Monk | True Corrupted Monk | Fountainhead Palace |
| Memory: Great Shinobi Owl | Great Shinobi Owl | Ashina Castle |
| Memory: Isshin, the Sword Saint | Isshin, the Sword Saint | Ashina Castle (Final Boss) |
| Memory: Shura | Great Shinobi Owl (Shura Ending Path) | Ashina Castle |
Strategic Value
Increasing Attack Power is crucial for making subsequent boss fights more manageable. Higher damage output means you can defeat enemies faster, reducing the time you spend in combat and the potential for taking damage. It also makes it easier to break enemy Posture, leading to more frequent Deathblows.
