Characters & Builds
Sekiro, known as the "Wolf," is a Shinobi adopted and trained by the Owl to serve the Divine Heir, Kuro. His calm demeanor belies a capacity for brutality in achieving missions. This section covers Sekiro's background and the core RPG elements that define character progression and combat style.
Sekiro's gameplay incorporates basic RPG elements, including a Vitality bar representing health. Running out of Vitality leads to death, but players can use a Resurrection charge to revive. Failing to use or being unable to use a Resurrection charge results in True Death, requiring a restart from the last Sculptor's Idol.
Deathblows are finishing moves. For bosses, they occur when health is depleted, often with a visual spectacle. For normal enemies, Deathblows are most commonly used in stealth situations to eliminate unaware foes with a single strike.
Sekiro obtains skill points through combat experience. There are two primary skill trees:
- Shinobi Arts: Focuses on stealth tactics and essential abilities like Mid-Air Deflections and Mikiri Counters.
- Prosthetic Arts: Concentrates on adapting prosthetic tools to various playstyles, including stealth and direct combat.
Combat Arts are powerful special moves equipped from the inventory and activated by pressing Attack and Guard simultaneously. Multiple Prosthetic Tools can be equipped and switched between during gameplay, each with unique strengths and weaknesses. More powerful tools can be unlocked through upgrades.
