Stealth is a vital component of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, allowing you to bypass difficult encounters, gain advantageous positions, and gather crucial information. Learning to move unseen and unheard is as important as mastering swordplay.
Your journey often begins with a focus on stealth. You'll learn mechanics like Wall Hugging, where you can press against certain walls marked with white scratch marks. While hugging a wall, you can use the directional controls to move along its edge. Pressing the directional button towards the wall's edge will trigger a 'Peek' view, allowing you to survey your surroundings without exposing yourself.
When you're ready to move, press the desated button to release the wall. This is often the trigger for stealth-focused tutorials. Your initial objective might be to bypass guards without engaging them directly, especially before you've acquired your primary weapon.
Eavesdropping is a key stealth mechanic that provides valuable intel. When you are near enemies or specific points of interest, an 'Eavesdrop' prompt will appear. Crouch by pressing the Left Thumbstick and move through tall grass or under structures to get close enough. Listen in on conversations to learn about enemy patrols, hidden paths, or upcoming challenges.
