Gamefowl Encounters

In the early stages of Sekiro, particularly around the Ashina Outskirts, you may encounter Gamefowl. These creatures are relatively weak but can be a nuisance in groups. They are often found near Sculptor's Idols, offering a small but consistent source of experience points (XP). A unique aspect of the Gamefowl is their susceptibility to environmental hazards; if positioned correctly, you can cause them to fall to their deaths, securing an easy XP gain without direct combat.

The first Sculptor's Idol in the Outskirts Wall - Gate Path area is a good starting point. From here, head right and slightly up to find a Gamefowl. Be mindful of your movements, as careless steps can lead to its demise and your subsequent XP reward. This area also provides opportunities to find valuable early-game resources.

After securing the Gamefowl's XP, you can grapple to a nearby rooftop to find the Shuriken Wheel, an upgrade material for your Prosthetic Tools. Returning to the Dilapidated Temple to have the Sculptor equip the Loaded Shuriken is a crucial early step. This tool consumes Spirit Emblems but offers ranged attacks and can be chained with other abilities.

Early Gamefowl Strategy

  • Locate Gamefowl near the Outskirts Wall - Gate Path Sculptor's Idol.
  • Maneuver carefully to make them fall to their deaths for easy XP.
  • Collect the Shuriken Wheel upgrade material from a nearby rooftop.
  • Equip the Loaded Shuriken at the Dilapidated Temple.
