Folding Screen Monkeys

Mastering combat in Sekiro involves understanding the Posture Meter, engaging Perilous Attacks, and effectively using Prosthetic Tools. The Posture Meter is a key feature, appearing above enemies' heads, and perfect parries are essential for managing it. Perilous Attacks, indicated by a red Kanji symbol, require specific defensive techniques to avoid damage.

  • Posture Meter: This meter appears above regular enemies' heads and at the top center for Mid-Bosses and Bosses. Dealing damage and performing perfect parries contribute to breaking an opponent's posture. Perfect parries are crucial; if every attack is perfectly parried, the Posture Meter will not break even if depleted.
  • Perilous Attacks: A red Kanji symbol warns of these special abilities. Defensive techniques vary by attack type:
    • Sweep: Jump and stomp on the enemy's head.
    • Thrust: Counter with Mikiri Counter.
    • Grab: Evade by dodging.
    • Lightning: Counter with Lightning Reversal.
  • Prosthetic Tools: Wolf's Prosthetic Arm can be fitted with Shinobi Tools found in the game. Multiple tools can be equipped and switched during gameplay. Upgrades unlock more powerful tools, offering strategic options.
  • Skills and Combat Arts: Skills and Skill Trees provide special moves and passive abilities that can be upgraded for improved effectiveness. Combat Arts are powerful special moves equipped from the inventory and activated by pressing the Attack and Guard buttons simultaneously.
