·Multi-source verified (120/120)

The Hirata Estate walkthrough guides you through this early-game area, detailing enemy placements, item locations, and boss strategies. Master this section to acquire the Flame Vent, defeat Lady Butterfly, and gather essential resources for your journey through Sekiro.

Accessing Hirata Estate

To enter Hirata Estate, you first need the Young Lord's Bell Charm. Obtain this from Inosuke Nogami's Mother in Ashina Outskirts. Then, return to the Dilapidated Temple and pray at the Kind-Faced Buddha. This will transport you to the estate.

Initial Area and Items

Upon arrival, you'll find a Sculptor's Idol. From here, proceed forward. You'll encounter Ashina Soldiers and potentially a Taro Troop. Look for:

  • Pellet
  • Flame Vent (Prosthetic Tool - requires Flame Barrel found within the estate)
  • Ungo's Sugar
  • Fistful of Ash
  • Light Coin Purse

Use stealth to your advantage, grappling to rooftops to bypass groups of enemies or gain a height advantage.

Key Encounters and Mini-Bosses

As you explore, you'll face:

  • Ashina Soldiers: Standard enemies, practice deflecting their attacks.
  • Taro Troop (Wooden Mallet): A tougher foe requiring precise deflections and potentially prosthetic use.
  • Shinobi Hunter Enshin of Misen: A mini-boss guarding a Prayer Bead. Master the Mikiri Counter and deflection to defeat him.

Boss Fight: Lady Butterfly

The main boss of Hirata Estate is Lady Butterfly. This fight is challenging and has two phases:

  • Phase 1: Lady Butterfly uses swift sword attacks and throws shurikens. She can also summon spectral butterflies that explode. Deflect her combos and dodge her perilous attacks.
  • Phase 2: She becomes more aggressive and uses a leaping attack followed by a flurry of blows. She also summons more butterflies. Use the Flame Vent if you have it to interrupt her attacks and deal damage. Focus on dodging her perilous sweep and jump attacks.

Rewards and Progression

Defeating Lady Butterfly grants you a Memory, which increases your Attack Power, and the Sakura Dance Combat Art. After this, you can explore any remaining areas for items or return to the Dilapidated Temple to continue the main story.
