Purification Achievement

The Purification ending is one of Sekiro's more complex conclusions, requiring players to delve into specific side quests and gather unique items that are not part of the main story's critical path. This ending sifies a more profound understanding of the Dragon's Heritage and a desire to absolve Kuro of his curse. Achieving this ending involves a series of intricate steps that begin relatively early in the game and culminate in a specific sequence of events near the game's conclusion. Players must pay close attention to dialogue and item descriptions to uncover the necessary clues.

To unlock the Purification ending, players must first obtain the "Kuro's Charm" from the Sculptor after defeating the Corrupted Monk. Following this, they must engage with Emma and Isshin Ashina in a specific manner. A crucial step involves eavesdropping on a conversation between Kuro and Emma, which then leads to a new dialogue option with Emma. Players will also need to acquire the "Father's Bell Charm" from Isshin Ashina after a specific event. The questline then requires You to obtain the "Frozen Dragon's Heritage" and the "Dragon's Tear" from the Divine Dragon. Finally, after defeating the final boss, Isshin Ashina, players must use the "Dragon's Tear" item on Kuro to trigger the Purification ending. This path is rich with lore and offers a unique perspective on the game's overarching narrative.

Steps to Achieve Purification

  1. After defeating the Corrupted Monk, obtain "Kuro's Charm" from the Sculptor.
  2. Progress through the game until the Divine Dragon boss fight.
  3. After the Divine Dragon fight, eavesdrop on Kuro and Emma's conversation in Kuro's room.
  4. Speak with Emma, and then speak with Isshin Ashina to receive the "Father's Bell Charm."
  5. Use the "Father's Bell Charm" to access a new area and defeat a specific boss.
  6. Obtain the "Frozen Dragon's Heritage" and the "Dragon's Tear" from the Divine Dragon.
  7. After defeating the final boss, Isshin Ashina, return to Kuro and use the "Dragon's Tear" on him.
  8. This will trigger the Purification ending. Ensure you have not pursued the Shura ending path, as this will lock out Purification.
