Shura Achievement

The Shura ending is the most abrupt and morally dark conclusion to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, achieved by succumbing to the path of the blade and embracing the "Shura" – a demon born of hatred and bloodlust. This ending requires players to make a definitive choice that severs their connection to Kuro and embraces a path of unbridled aggression. It is a path that many players might stumble upon unintentionally if they are not aware of the specific trigger, but it is a deliberate choice that leads to a swift and brutal conclusion.

To achieve the Shura ending, players must reach a critical juncture in the game where they are presented with a choice regarding Kuro. Instead of choosing to "Obey Kuro" or pursue other narrative threads, You must choose to "Forsake Kuro." This choice is made after defeating the game's penultimate boss, Owl (Father). Upon making this decision, the game will immediately transition into a new final boss encounter against the Sculptor, who has become consumed by Shura. Defeating the Sculptor in this state will trigger the Shura ending. This ending sifies a complete abandonment of the protagonist's original mission and a descent into a demonic state, reflecting a rejection of humanity and compassion. It is important to note that pursuing the Shura ending will lock out all other possible endings for that playthrough, making it a definitive choice.

Steps to Achieve Shura

  1. Progress through the game until you defeat Owl (Father).
  2. At the critical story juncture presented after defeating Owl (Father), choose the option to "Forsake Kuro."
  3. This choice will immediately trigger a new boss fight against the Sculptor, who has become the Shura.
  4. Defeat the Sculptor.
  5. Upon defeating the Sculptor, the Shura ending will be triggered.
  6. Be aware that choosing this path will make all other endings inaccessible for the current playthrough.
  7. Ensure you have not acquired any items or completed any questlines that are prerequisites for the Purification or Return endings, as these will be rendered irrelevant by the Shura choice.
