O'Rin of the Water is a formidable boss encountered in the Senpou Temple, Mt. Kongo, specifically within the waters of the temple grounds. This spectral warrior wields a sword with incredible speed and grace, making her a difficult opponent to pin down and attack. Her attacks are a relentless barrage of slashes, often performed in rapid succession, which can quickly overwhelm a player's ability to deflect. Furthermore, O'Rin can employ a unique lunging attack that covers a significant distance, making it difficult to evade. The environment where this fight takes place, with its shallow water, can also impede movement and create a disadvantage for the player. Mastering the deflection of her sword strikes is paramount to success, as her Posture bar depletes relatively quickly when consistently parried.

The strategy for defeating O'Rin of the Water revolves around aggressive deflection and exploiting brief moments of vulnerability. Her sword combos are long, but each strike can be deflected. Focus on learning the rhythm of her attacks; a successful deflection will create a small opening. During these openings, land one or two quick hits before preparing to deflect again. Her lunging attack can be dodged to the side, creating a larger window for counter-attack. If you have acquired the Mikiri Counter skill, it can be used against her thrusting attacks, dealing significant Posture damage. Be aware that O'Rin can also perform a grab attack, which should be dodged backward. The use of the Loaded Axe can be effective if you can time its swing to connect after a successful deflection, as it can stagger her and interrupt her combos. Consuming Ako's Sugar before the fight can boost your attack power, allowing you to end the encounter more quickly. Patience is key; do not get greedy with your attacks, and prioritize deflecting her relentless assault.
