Circle Strafing

This is the bread and butter of Serious Sam combat. Always move in a circular pattern around enemies, especially larger ones. This makes you a harder target to hit and allows you to continuously fire while avoiding incoming projectiles. Combine with sprinting for maximum evasion.

Jump Dodging

Many enemy projectiles (e.g., Biomechanoid plasma, Ugh-Zan III's ground slams) can be dodged by jumping over them. Practice timing your jumps to clear these attacks, especially in crowded arenas.

Backpedaling & Kiting

When facing overwhelming numbers or powerful melee enemies like Kleer Skeletons and Sirian Werebulls, backpedal while firing to create distance. This 'kiting' technique allows you to thin out the horde before they can reach you, giving you more breathing room to maneuver and reload.

Environmental Awareness

Use the environment to your advantage. Pillars, walls, and even small debris can provide temporary cover from projectiles. Choke points can funnel enemies, making them easier targets for area-of-effect weapons like the Rocket Launcher or Grenade Launcher. Don't get stuck in corners!

Sledgehammer Dash

While not a true dash, a well-timed Sledgehammer swing can provide a slight forward momentum boost. This can be used to quickly close small gaps or gain a tiny bit of extra speed when combined with sprinting, though its primary use is still melee combat.
