·Multi-source verified (44/44)

Upon taking significant damage, Drill Knight will transition to his second phase, where he takes to the air in a massive drilling machine. The arena will change, often becoming more vertical with fewer safe platforms. Drill Knight will fly around, firing volleys of projectiles, and occasionally dive-bombing the arena, creating large shockwaves. He can also summon large, spinning drills that move across the screen, acting as environmental hazards. To damage him in this phase, you'll need to utilize your Shovel Drop to bounce off his head or off the projectiles he fires. Look for openings when he pauses after an attack. Relics that allow for aerial mobility, such as the Propeller Dagger, or those that deal damage from a distance, like the Flare Wand, become much more effective here. This phase requires excellent aerial control and timing. Don't be afraid to use your remaining Relics and healing items to push through. Focus on consistent damage and avoiding his powerful aerial attacks.
