Hydro Knight is the mini-boss of the Secret Fountain, a swift and agile knight who commands water. His primary attacks involve summoning geysers of water from the ground, which you must quickly dodge. He also has a dash attack that leaves a trail of damaging water. Hydro Knight can also create water bubbles that trap Shovel Knight, leaving him vulnerable. The key to defeating Hydro Knight is to stay mobile and exploit the brief moments after his attacks when he is vulnerable. A well-timed Shovel Drop can stun him, allowing for follow-up attacks. He often retreats into the water, making him temporarily invulnerable, before re-emerging to attack. Anticipate his re-emergence and be ready to dodge. Relics that deal damage over time, like the Throwing Anchor, or those that allow for quick bursts of damage, such as the Dust Knuckles, can be effective. Focus on dodging his water-based attacks and punishing his recovery frames.
