Mannequin Strategies

The Mannequin is a disturbing and surprisingly agile enemy in Silent Hill 2 (Remake). These grotesque figures, resembling mannequins with sharp appendages, are encountered in specific, often claustrophobic, environments. Their primary attack involves swift, piercing strikes with their limbs. Due to their unsettling appearance and unpredictable movements, they can be quite unnerving.

When facing a Mannequin, the key is to maintain distance and utilize ranged attacks if possible. Their melee range is sificant, and they can close the gap quickly. If you're armed with the handgun, aim for the head or chest. The shotgun is highly effective at staggering them, giving you a brief window to reposition or land more shots. However, ammunition is scarce, so don't waste it. If you're forced into close combat, use your melee weapon (like the Pipe or Knife) and be prepared to dodge their lunges. A well-timed dodge can create an opening for a counter-attack. Some Mannequins are encountered in rooms where they are initially indistinguishable from the environment, adding an element of surprise. Always be aware of your surroundings and listen for their distinctive shuffling sounds. If you have the Shotgun, a single blast at close range can often incapacitate them, allowing you to finish them off with melee or more shots. In some instances, it might be more prudent to simply evade them if you are low on health or ammunition, especially if there are multiple Mannequins in the area. Their slow turning speed can sometimes be exploited to get behind them for a quick escape or a few hits.
