Lakeview Hotel: Basement & Boiler Room
Welcome to the chilling depths of the Lakeview Hotel's basement. This area is a maze of dimly lit corridors and machinery, so proceed with caution. The primary goal here is to restore power and access the Boiler Room.
Basement Exploration
- Upon entering the basement, you'll find yourself in a narrow hallway. Immediately to your left, you'll spot a First-Aid Kit on a shelf. Grab it; every bit of healing is crucial.
- Continue down the hallway. You'll encounter a locked door to your right. Make a mental note of it, as we'll return here later.
- Proceed straight ahead until you reach a junction. To your left is a door leading to a storage room. Inside, you'll find a Health Drink and some Handgun Ammo. Be wary, as a Lying Figure might be lurking in here.
- Head back to the junction and take the path to the right. This leads to a larger utility area.
- On the wall to your left, you'll see a large electrical panel. Interact with it to initiate a simple puzzle. The goal is to flip the correct switches to restore power to the boiler room. The solution is usually indicated by a faded diagram nearby or a note found earlier in the hotel. If you're struggling, try the sequence: Up, Down, Up, Down, Up.
- Once power is restored, backtrack to the locked door you noted earlier. It will now be accessible.
Boiler Room & Key Acquisition
- Enter the newly unlocked door. This is the Boiler Room. The air here is thick with steam and the metallic clang of machinery.
- Immediately upon entering, prepare for a confrontation. Two or three Lying Figures often patrol this area. Use your shotgun for quick dispatch if you have it, or conserve ammo with well-aimed handgun shots.
- Navigate through the large boilers. Your objective is to reach the far end of the room.
- Look for a small, grimy workbench or shelf tucked away in a corner. Here, you will discover the crucial item: the Boiler Room Key. This key is essential for progressing further into the hotel's lower levels.
- Before leaving, thoroughly search the Boiler Room. Often, you can find additional Shotgun Shells or Rifle Ammo scattered around the machinery or on crates.
Exiting the Basement
- With the Boiler Room Key in hand, you can now proceed to the next section of the hotel.
- Head back through the Boiler Room and out into the main basement corridor.
- Your next destination will be a door on the opposite side of the basement, which was previously inaccessible. The Boiler Room Key will unlock this door, leading you deeper into the hotel's unsettling secrets.
