Phases & Attacks:

  1. Phase 1 (75-100% Health): The Guardian uses a 'Stone Fist Slam' attack, a slow but powerful ground pound that creates a shockwave. It also has a 'Wood Shard Barrage', launching multiple projectiles from its body.
  2. Phase 2 (25-75% Health): The Guardian begins to summon 'Root Tendrils' from the ground, which act as environmental hazards and can ensnare Emi. It also gains a 'Sweeping Branch' attack, covering a very wide area around itself.
  3. Phase 3 (0-25% Health): The Guardian's core glows intensely. It will frequently use all previous attacks, often chaining them. It also gains a 'Ritualistic Roar' attack, which deals high damage and causes a temporary 'Fear' status effect, impairing movement and vision.

Weaknesses:

  • Explosives: The Guardian's stone and wood composition makes it highly vulnerable to explosive damage. Stock up on 'Pipe Bombs' and 'Grenades' (if found).
  • Weak Points: During certain attacks, its glowing core is exposed. This is its primary weak point.

Strategy:

In Phase 1, keep your distance and use your Hunting Rifle or Shotgun to target its head/core when exposed after a Stone Fist Slam. Dodge the shockwaves. In Phase 2, prioritize destroying the Root Tendrils as they appear to clear your movement space. Use the Shotgun for this. Be mindful of the Sweeping Branch and dodge through it. For Phase 3, this is a DPS race. Unleash all remaining explosives on its exposed core. When it uses Ritualistic Roar, try to hide behind pillars or environmental cover to mitigate damage and fear. If you have the Katana, use its speed to get in quick hits on the core during openings. This fight is about patience and exploiting openings.

Rewards:

  • Guardian's Heart: A rare crafting component for the most powerful weapon upgrades.
  • Ancient Talisman: An accessory that significantly boosts all resistances.
  • Story Progression.
