Chapter 11: Oilspill Island

Initial Ascent & First Encounter

Upon landing, you'll immediately notice the pervasive oil slicks. These will slow your Skylanders down, making them vulnerable. Prioritize ranged attacks or Skylanders with good mobility to navigate these areas efficiently. Head straight, following the main path. You'll soon encounter your first group of Chompy Pods and Chompies. Clear them out to proceed.

After defeating the Chompies, look for a small, elevated platform to your right. Jump onto it to find a chest containing some Gold. Continue forward, and you'll come across a larger group of Chompies, often accompanied by a Chompy Mage. Focus on the Mage first, as it can summon more Chompies, making the fight much harder.

The Oil Refinery & Gear Puzzle

As you progress, you'll reach an area with a large, inactive oil refinery. To activate it and clear some of the oil, you'll need to solve a simple gear puzzle.

1. First Gear: To the left of the refinery entrance, you'll see a small path leading upwards. Follow it to find the first Gear. Pick it up.
2. Second Gear: Head to the right of the refinery entrance. You'll need to defeat a few Oil Golems – these enemies are slow but hit hard and leave behind oil puddles. Once they're down, the second Gear will be visible.
3. Placement: Return to the refinery entrance. There are two empty pedestals. Place the gears onto these pedestals to activate the machinery. This will drain some of the oil, opening new pathways.

The Sunken Ship & Story Scroll

With the oil partially drained, a new path to the south-east will open, leading towards a sunken ship. Be careful, as this area is still heavily covered in oil and populated by more Oil Golems and Chompy Pods.

• Story Scroll: Navigate through the oil-slicked path towards the sunken ship. On the deck of the ship, you'll find the Story Scroll for this chapter. grab it before moving on.
• Elemental Gate (Water): Near the sunken ship, you'll spot a Water Elemental Gate. If you have a Water Skylander, activate it to access a bonus area containing a significant amount of Gold and possibly a Soul Gem.

The Conveyor Belt Challenge

Further into the level, you'll encounter a series of conveyor belts, some moving against you and others with you. These can be tricky, especially with enemies present.

• Strategy: Use Skylanders with abilities that allow for quick movement or invincibility frames to cross these sections easily. Avoid getting caught between the conveyor belt and the edges, as this can lead to quick damage.
• Enemies: Expect to face a mix of Chompies and Oil Golems on the conveyor belts. Prioritize taking out ranged enemies first if they appear.

Boss Encounter: The Oil Baron

The final section of Oilspill Island culminates in a battle against the Oil Baron. This boss fight requires careful movement and timing.

• Phase 1: Oil Puddles & Minions: The Oil Baron will frequently create large oil puddles that slow you down. He will also summon Oil Golems to distract you. Focus on dodging the puddles and quickly eliminating the Golems to create openings to attack the Baron.
• Phase 2: Oil Stream Attack: As his health depletes, the Oil Baron will start firing a continuous stream of oil across the arena. This attack is telegraphed, so watch for his wind-up animation and move to the side.
• Weakness: The Oil Baron is particularly vulnerable to Tech and Fire Skylanders. Their attacks can deal increased damage or bypass some of his defenses. Keep moving, chip away at his health, and utilize your Skylander's special abilities.

Defeating the Oil Baron will complete Chapter 11 and allow you to proceed to the next exciting adventure!
