Chapter 14: Crystal Eye Castle

Welcome to Crystal Eye Castle, a challenging stage filled with tricky platforming, powerful enemies, and hidden secrets. Prepare your strongest Skylanders, especially those with high attack power and good mobility. An Air Skylander is essential for accessing a specific Elemental Gate.

Initial Ascent and First Encounters

Starting Area: As you begin, proceed forward. You'll immediately encounter a few Chompy Pods and a couple of Chompies. Clear them out to safely move on.
First Platforming Challenge: You'll reach a series of moving platforms. Time your jumps carefully to avoid falling into the abyss. There are usually a few coins scattered on these platforms, so grab them if you can do so safely.
Enemy Ambush: After the platforms, you'll face a small group of Greebles and a Scabbard. Focus on the Scabbard first, as its ranged attacks can be annoying. Use a Skylander with good area-of-effect abilities if you have one.
Hidden Treasure Chest: Before continuing up the main path, look to your left. There's a small, slightly obscured ledge with a Treasure Chest containing some gold.

The Crystal Corridors

Crystal Shard Traps: As you enter the castle proper, you'll notice glowing crystal shards on the ground. These are traps! Stepping on them will cause them to erupt, dealing damage. Carefully navigate around them or use a Skylander with a dash or teleport ability to bypass them.
Air Elemental Gate: Shortly after the crystal shard traps, you'll come across an Air Elemental Gate.
- Requirement: An Air Skylander (e.g., Whirlwind, Sonic Boom, Warnado).
- Inside: This area contains a significant amount of gold, a Soul Gem (for Whirlwind if you haven't found it yet, or another random Skylander's if you have), and often a Winged Sapphire. explore thoroughly.
Rotating Platforms: Further into the corridors, you'll encounter a section with large, rotating crystal platforms. These can be tricky. Wait for the platforms to align before making your jump. Don't rush, as a misstep means a long fall.
Story Scroll Location: On one of the rotating platforms, or immediately after them, keep an eye out for a small alcove or side path. This is where you'll find the Story Scroll for Crystal Eye Castle. It's often slightly off the main path, so explore every corner.

The Grand Hall and Boss Prep

Enemy Gauntlet: The Grand Hall is usually a larger area with a more intense enemy encounter. Expect a mix of Greebles, Scabbards, and potentially a tougher enemy like a Shield Greeble. Prioritize the Shield Greebles to break their defenses.
Key Location: To progress, you'll need a key. This key is typically dropped by a specific enemy in the Grand Hall, often a slightly larger or more resilient foe. Defeat all enemies in the area to ensure it drops.
Lock Puzzle: The key will unlock a door or activate a mechanism. This might involve a simple lock or a small puzzle, such as stepping on pressure plates in a specific order.
Treasure Chest (Hat): Before the final boss encounter, there's often a well-hidden Treasure Chest containing a new Hat. Look behind pillars, under staircases, or in small, dark corners. The Propeller Cap is a common find in this chapter, boosting speed.

Boss Battle: The Crystal Golem

The Crystal Golem is a formidable foe that uses the castle's crystal energy. Here's how to defeat it:

Attack Patterns:
- Crystal Slam: The Golem will raise its arms and slam them down, creating a shockwave of crystal shards. Jump to avoid the shockwave.
- Crystal Barrage: It will launch several homing crystal projectiles. Keep moving and use your Skylander's mobility to dodge these.
- Summon Minions: Periodically, the Golem will summon Chompies or Greebles to distract you. Clear these out quickly to refocus on the boss.
Strategy:
- Target Weak Points: The Golem's main weakness is its chest crystal. It will glow brightly after certain attacks or when it's recovering. This is your window to deal significant damage.
- Hit and Run: Due to its powerful attacks, a hit-and-run strategy is effective. Attack the chest crystal when it's vulnerable, then retreat to avoid its counter-attacks.
- Elemental Advantage: While not strictly necessary, a Skylander with a strong elemental advantage (e.g., a Tech or Magic Skylander) can make this fight quicker.
- Use Power-Ups: If you've collected any power-ups like damage boosts or invincibility, now is the time to use them to maximize your damage output during the Golem's vulnerable phases.
Victory: Once the Crystal Golem is defeated, the path to the next chapter will open, and you'll collect a large amount of gold and experience.
