Chapter 6: Creepy Citadel
Welcome to the Creepy Citadel, Portal Master! This chapter introduces new challenges and enemies, so be prepared. We'll guide you through every twist and turn, ensuring you collect all the treasures and defeat Kaos's minions.
Initial Ascent and First Encounter
- As you begin, head straight along the path. You'll quickly encounter your first set of enemies: Chompy Pods and a few Chompies. Take them out to clear the way.
- Look for a small alcove to your left after the first enemy encounter. Inside, you'll find a Treasure Chest containing some gold.
- Continue forward. You'll soon reach a gate blocked by a magical barrier. To open it, you'll need to activate two pressure plates.
- The first pressure plate is directly in front of the gate. Stand on it to activate it.
- The second pressure plate is located to the right of the gate, hidden behind some destructible crates. Smash the crates to reveal it, then stand on it.
- Once both plates are active, the gate will open. Proceed through.
The Courtyard and Elemental Gate
- Upon entering the courtyard, you'll be ambushed by more Chompies and a new enemy type: Grave Golems. Grave Golems are slow but hit hard, so keep your distance and use ranged attacks if possible.
- After clearing the enemies, explore the perimeter of the courtyard. To your left, you'll find a Story Scroll tucked away near a crumbling wall.
- On the right side of the courtyard, you'll spot an Elemental Gate (Undead). If you have an Undead Skylander, activate it to access a bonus area.
Undead Elemental Gate Bonus Area
- Inside the Undead Elemental Gate area, you'll face a few more Grave Golems and Chompy Pods.
- Navigate the winding path, collecting the numerous gold piles.
- At the end of this path, you'll discover a Soul Gem for Chop Chop.
- Exit the bonus area and return to the main courtyard.
Bridge Puzzle and Hat Location
- From the courtyard, head towards the large broken bridge. You'll notice a series of platforms leading across a chasm.
- To activate the bridge, you'll need to solve a simple puzzle. There are three switches on the ground. Activating them in the correct sequence will extend the bridge segments. The correct sequence is usually indicated by subtle visual cues or trial and error. (Hint: Try activating them from left to right, or follow the glowing lines if present).
- Once the bridge is fully extended, cross to the other side.
- Immediately after crossing, look to your right. There's a small elevated platform accessible by jumping. On this platform, you'll find the Propeller Hat. This hat increases your movement speed!
The Inner Keep and Kaos's Minions
- Continue into the inner keep. You'll encounter a mix of Chompies, Grave Golems, and a new, more agile enemy: Dark Spiders. Dark Spiders are quick and can jump, so be ready to dodge their attacks.
- Clear the area and proceed through the next doorway.
- You'll enter a large chamber with several destructible objects. Smash everything to collect gold and potential health drops.
- In the center of this chamber, you'll find another Treasure Chest.
- Look for a path leading upwards, either a ramp or a series of platforms. Follow it to reach the next level of the citadel.
Final Stretch and Boss Prep
- As you ascend, you'll encounter more challenging groups of enemies, including multiple Grave Golems and Dark Spiders simultaneously. Consider using a Skylander with good area-of-effect attacks.
- Keep an eye out for a hidden path or breakable wall on the upper level. Behind it, you might find a Winged Sapphire.
- You'll eventually reach a large, circular platform or arena, signaling the impending boss encounter. Before stepping into the center, ensure your chosen Skylander is at full health and has a good elemental advantage if possible.
- This is a good time to switch to a Skylander with high damage output or good defensive capabilities.
