Recommended Team: Sonic (Leader) & Tails (Partner)
The Ice Factory boss is a large, stationary machine that produces ice blocks and fires projectiles. The arena is a flat, icy surface with a few small platforms. Your goal is to hit the core of the machine, which is usually exposed after its attacks.
Phase 1: Ice Block Production
The Ice Factory will primarily attack by producing large ice blocks that slide across the arena. Jump over these blocks to avoid damage. Occasionally, it will also fire small ice shards. After producing a few blocks, the core of the machine will briefly open, exposing a vulnerable spot. Use Sonic's Homing Attack or a well-timed jump to hit the core. Tails' flight can give you extra height if the core is slightly elevated.
Phase 2: Increased Speed and Laser
After taking some damage, the Ice Factory will produce ice blocks faster and may start firing a sweeping laser beam. The laser can be jumped over. The core will still open after its attacks, but for a shorter duration. Sonic's speed is crucial for dodging the faster attacks and quickly getting into position to strike. If you're struggling to reach the core, use Tails' Tag Action for a quick boost. Aim for 8-10 hits to defeat the boss. The slippery ice floor adds an extra layer of challenge, so be mindful of your footing.
