The Altar Emerald gauntlet is a linear, challenging stage that combines elements from all previous zones. You'll encounter sections with anti-gravity, requiring precise jumps and movement. There are also underwater sections where oxygen management is crucial, and slippery ice platforms demanding careful control. Laser grids and crushing mechanisms from Cyber Track will also make an appearance. The path is often guarded by powerful versions of regular enemies.
use your chosen team's strengths to navigate each section. Sonic's speed and Homing Attack are excellent for clearing enemies and maintaining momentum. Tails' flight is invaluable for bypassing difficult platforming sections or recovering from falls. There are no rings to collect in this zone, so every hit counts. Focus on survival and reaching the end. The stage is relatively short but intense, designed to deplete your lives before the final confrontation. There are no Special Springs here, as all Chaos Emeralds should already be collected. The end of the gauntlet leads directly to the final boss chamber.
