The Egg Hammer 3 is a large, robotic mech piloted by Dr. Eggman. It attacks with a massive hammer and can jump to create shockwaves. The arena is a flat, open space with no environmental hazards.
Phase 1: Hammer Swings and Jumps
The Egg Hammer 3 will primarily attack by swinging its hammer horizontally across the ground. Jump over the hammer to avoid damage. After a few swings, it will jump high and slam down, creating a shockwave that spreads across the ground. Jump over this shockwave. Your opportunity to attack is immediately after it slams down or after a hammer swing, when Eggman's cockpit is briefly exposed. Use Sonic's Homing Attack or a well-timed jump to hit the cockpit. Knuckles' Tag Action can provide a powerful uppercut if you're close, dealing significant damage.
Phase 2: Increased Speed and Projectiles
After taking some damage, the Egg Hammer 3 will become faster and may start firing small projectiles in addition to its hammer attacks. The strategy remains the same: avoid its attacks and strike the cockpit when it's vulnerable. Sonic's speed is crucial for dodging the faster attacks. If you're struggling to get close, use Knuckles' Tag Action to launch yourself upwards for a quick hit. Aim for 8-10 hits to defeat the boss. Keep moving and be patient, waiting for the right opening to strike.
