User Interface (UI) Explained
  • Rings: Located at the top-left of the screen. This counter displays the number of rings you currently possess. Collecting 100 rings grants you an extra life. If you take damage while holding rings, you will lose them all, but you can recollect some before they disappear. If you take damage with 0 rings, you lose a life.
  • Score: Located at the top-center. This displays your current score for the stage. Collecting rings, defeating enemies, and clearing stages quickly contribute to your score.
  • Time: Located at the top-right. This timer shows how long you've been playing the current stage. Completing stages quickly contributes to a higher score and better rank.
  • Lives: Usually displayed as a small icon of your character with a number next to it, often in the bottom-left or on the pause screen. This indicates how many attempts you have left before a Game Over.
  • Special Stage Rings: In certain stages, you'll find large, glowing rings. Entering these will take you to a Special Stage, where you can collect Chaos Emeralds.

Keep an eye on your ring count, especially in boss battles, as they act as your health. Aim for high scores and fast times to unlock secrets and achieve the best ranks!
