The Egg Hornet is Dr. Eggman's first major machine. As Sonic, the fight takes place on a series of platforms. The Egg Hornet will fly around, occasionally dropping bombs or attempting to ram you. Its primary weakness is the cockpit, which opens up after it performs certain attacks or when it's stunned. When it drops bombs, run away from the blast radius. When it charges, dodge to the side. After these attacks, Eggman's cockpit will briefly open; use a Homing Attack to strike it. Repeat this process until it's defeated. As Tails, the fight is similar but takes place in the air. You'll need to fly up to the Egg Hornet and hit its cockpit when it opens. Use your tail whip attack. The challenge for Tails is managing your flight gauge while dodging its attacks and getting into position to strike. Both characters need to be patient and wait for the opening.
