Throughout Action Stages, you'll encounter several recurring items that provide immediate benefits. Rings are the most common and serve as your health; collecting 100 grants an extra life. If you take damage, you lose all your rings, but can recollect some before they disappear. Item Boxes contain various power-ups: a single ring, 10 rings, an extra life, a speed shoes power-up (temporary speed boost), or an invincibility power-up (temporary invincibility). Dash Panels provide a burst of speed when run over. Springs launch your character into the air. Monitors are breakable objects that often contain rings or power-ups. Chaos Drives and Small Animals are found by defeating enemies or breaking specific objects; these are crucial for raising Chao in the Chao Gardens. Always keep an eye out for these items, as they can significantly impact your performance and survival in a stage.
