Emerald Coast is Sonic's introductory stage, designed to familiarize you with his speed and basic abilities. The stage is linear but offers multiple paths, encouraging exploration for rings and speed boosts. Start by boosting down the initial ramp. Utilize the Homing Attack on enemies and springs to maintain momentum. When you encounter the large loop-de-loop, ensure you have enough speed to clear it. The stage features several sections with water; use the Dash Panels to skim across the surface. Look for alternate routes, often indicated by ramps or springs, which can lead to shortcuts or extra rings. The final section involves a long grind rail and a series of springs leading to the Goal Ring. Aim for a fast time to earn a high rank. collect the first Chaos Emerald at the end of the stage.
