While the main Chao Gardens are easily accessible from the Adventure Fields, there are also hidden Chao Gardens that offer unique environments for your Chao. The most notable is the Chaos Chao Garden, which can only be accessed by raising a Chao to its second evolution as either a Hero or Dark Chao, and then giving it all 21 animals from the game (7 of each type: Swim, Fly, Run, Power). Once these conditions are met, the Chao will evolve into a Chaos Chao, and a new portal will appear in the main Chao Garden, leading to the Chaos Chao Garden. This garden is a serene, ethereal place where Chaos Chao reside. There's also a Dark Chao Garden and a Hero Chao Garden, which are accessed by having a Chao evolve into a Dark or Hero Chao respectively, and then finding the hidden entrances in the Adventure Fields (often near the main Chao Garden entrances). These hidden gardens provide unique aesthetics and a sense of accomplishment for dedicated Chao raisers.
