Super Sonic is a powerful, fan-favorite transformation. To unlock him, you must collect all 7 Chaos Emeralds. Each Chaos Emerald is earned by collecting all 5 Red Star Rings in a single act of each world. Once unlocked, Super Sonic can be activated in any regular act (not boss fights) by collecting 50 rings and pressing the Boost button. As Super Sonic, you are invincible, have unlimited Boost, and move at incredible speeds. However, your ring count constantly depletes, and if it reaches zero, you revert to normal Sonic. Use Super Sonic to easily achieve S-Ranks, find hidden areas, or simply enjoy the sheer power. He cannot use Color Powers.
