  • Boost Chaining: Don't just boost in open areas. Learn to chain boosts with homing attacks, grind rails, and springs. A well-timed homing attack after a boost can maintain momentum across gaps, and boosting into a grind rail can instantly accelerate you.
  • Wisp Transitioning: Practice quickly activating and deactivating Wisps. For example, using a Yellow Wisp (Drill) to quickly burrow through a section, then immediately deactivating it to jump and homing attack an enemy. Seamless transitions are key to maintaining flow.
  • Trick Jumps: When jumping off ramps or springs, performing a trick (by shaking the controller or pressing a specific button in Ultimate) grants a small boost to your Boost Gauge. Incorporate these into your runs whenever possible to keep your boost meter full.
  • Drift Boost: Combine drifting with a quick boost out of the turn. This allows you to navigate sharp corners at high speed without losing momentum, which is crucial for S-Ranks.
  • Homing Attack Canceling: In some situations, you can cancel a homing attack mid-air by pressing the jump button again, allowing for more precise landings or to avoid hitting an unintended target. This is a more advanced technique but can save time.

Practice these techniques in early stages until they become second nature. The difference between a good player and a great player often lies in the seamless execution of these advanced maneuvers.
