This fight is less about direct damage and more about surviving his onslaught and finding the brief windows to strike. The arena is a dynamic, shifting environment, adding to the challenge.
Phase 1: Illusionary Attacks
- Attacks: Infinite will create multiple illusions of himself, charge at you, fire energy blasts, and create large, damaging energy constructs.
- Strategy:
- Identify the Real Infinite: The real Infinite will often glow slightly or be the one that directly attacks you. Focus your Homing Attacks on him.
- Quick Step & Boost: Use Quick Step to dodge his rapid charges and energy blasts. Boost to escape large area-of-effect attacks or to quickly close the distance to the real Infinite.
- Homing Attack: After dodging his attacks, Infinite will often be briefly vulnerable. Use Homing Attack to strike him. You'll need to hit him multiple times to break his defenses.
- Vulnerability: Brief moments after he completes an attack or when you successfully identify and target the real Infinite.
Phase 2: Environmental Manipulation
- Attacks: Infinite will begin to manipulate the environment, creating large, damaging illusions of objects (e.g., giant cubes, spikes) that you must avoid.
- Strategy:
- Observe Patterns: The environmental illusions often follow predictable patterns. Learn to anticipate where they will appear and quick-step or boost out of the way.
- Maintain Speed: Keeping your speed up makes it easier to dodge these large-scale attacks.
- Focus on Infinite: While dodging, keep an eye on Infinite himself. He will still be vulnerable after certain attacks.
- Vulnerability: Similar to Phase 1, look for openings after his attacks or when he's preparing a new illusion.
This battle is a test of endurance and quick reflexes. Don't get overwhelmed by the illusions; focus on the real Infinite and dodge his attacks. Keep your Boost Gauge full by collecting rings and hitting the real Infinite. Patience and precise movement are key to overcoming Infinite's reality-bending powers.
