Phase 1: Dual Assault & Illusionary Clones
- Attacks: Infinite will create numerous illusions of himself and other villains (e.g., Shadow, Zavok), charging at you and firing projectiles. He'll also create large energy constructs.
- Strategy:
- Character Switching: You'll automatically switch between Modern Sonic and your Avatar. Use each character's strengths.
- Modern Sonic: Focus on boosting through illusions, quick-stepping to dodge, and Homing Attacking the real Infinite or his larger constructs.
- Avatar: Use your Wispon's primary attack for consistent damage and your special ability for crowd control or defense against illusions. The Lightning Wispon's chain attack is excellent here.
- Identify Real Infinite: The real Infinite will often be the one directly attacking or glowing slightly. Prioritize hitting him.
- Vulnerability: After he completes a charge or a large illusion attack, he'll be briefly open to attacks from either character.
Phase 2: Phantom Ruby Overload
- Attacks: Infinite will unleash more powerful and widespread attacks, creating massive illusions that cover large portions of the arena, such as giant cubes or a barrage of projectiles.
- Strategy:
- Coordinated Attacks: When the game prompts you for a 'Double Boost' or 'Team Attack,' activate it immediately. This is your primary way to deal significant damage.
- Dodge & Survive: Focus heavily on dodging his large-scale attacks. Use Quick Step, Boost, and your Avatar's Wispon special (e.g., Burst shield, Void teleport) to survive.
- Fill Boost Gauge: Continuously collect rings and defeat illusions to keep your Boost Gauge full for the crucial team attacks.
- Vulnerability: Primarily during the 'Double Boost' or 'Team Attack' prompts.
