From competitive online features to daily challenges, there's always something to do in the world of Sonic Forces.
Available Game Modes:
- Story Mode: This is the primary campaign where you progress through the narrative, playing as Modern Sonic, Classic Sonic, and your custom Avatar. Completing story stages unlocks new areas, characters, and customization items.
- Extra Missions: These are optional challenges tied to specific stages, often requiring you to complete a stage under certain conditions (e.g., collect a certain number of rings, defeat all enemies, finish within a time limit). Completing Extra Missions often rewards you with new clothing items for your Avatar.
- Daily Missions: These are time-limited challenges that refresh daily. They typically involve completing a stage with a specific character, achieving a certain score, or using a particular Wispon. Daily Missions are an excellent source of bonus rings and customization items.
- SOS Missions: Occasionally, you'll encounter 'SOS Missions' on the world map. These are stages where another player's Avatar is 'in trouble.' By completing the stage, you rescue their Avatar and earn a reward, often a unique clothing item. This is a pseudo-multiplayer feature.
- Rankings: While not a 'mode' in itself, the game features online leaderboards for every stage. Competing for high scores and fast times against players worldwide adds a significant replayability factor.
- Avatar Customization: Although not a playable mode, the Avatar customization menu is where you'll spend a lot of time equipping new gear, changing your appearance, and selecting Wispons.
Focus on Story Mode first to unlock all stages and characters. Afterward, dive into Extra and Daily Missions to expand your Avatar's wardrobe and earn valuable rings. SOS Missions are a fun way to get unique items and engage with the community indirectly.
