Metal Sonic is Classic Sonic's first rival, encountered in the Green Hill Zone. This battle is a high-speed race, not a direct combat encounter. The key is to maintain your momentum and use the Spin Dash effectively. Metal Sonic will try to block your path and use his V-Laser. Stay on the highest paths possible to avoid his attacks and gain speed. Look for springs and speed boosters. Towards the end, he'll use a large energy ball; Spin Dash through it or jump over it. The goal is to reach the finish line before him. Don't get discouraged if he pulls ahead; focus on your own path and speed.
