Metal Overlord is the true final boss of Sonic Heroes, faced only in the Last Story after collecting all seven Chaos Emeralds with one team. This is a multi-stage aerial battle against a colossal, transformed Metal Sonic.
Phases & Strategy:
- Phase 1: Aerial Chase (Team Sonic/Dark/Rose/Chaotix): You'll be flying through the air, chasing Metal Overlord. Stay in Fly formation (Tails/Rouge/Cream/Charmy) and use Thunder Shoot to attack its wings or head. Dodge its projectile attacks and laser beams. Collect rings to keep your Team Blast gauge full.
- Phase 2: Super Team Attack (Super Sonic/Shadow/Amy/Vector): Once you've dealt enough damage, your team will transform into their Super forms (if you collected all Chaos Emeralds). This is where you unleash a continuous barrage of attacks. Fly towards Metal Overlord and repeatedly use your Speed character's Homing Attack.
- Phase 3: Weak Point Exposure: Metal Overlord will expose its core or a specific weak point. Continue to attack relentlessly with your Super Speed character. Dodge any remaining attacks.
- Final Blow: After enough damage, a prompt will appear to unleash a final, powerful Team Blast. Execute it to defeat Metal Overlord.
Weakness: Primarily vulnerable to Fly attacks in Phase 1, and then continuous Speed attacks from your Super character in Phases 2 and 3. The final Team Blast is essential.
