Game Modes Explained
Welcome, hero! Sonic Heroes offers several game modes to test your skills, unlock secrets, and challenge your friends. Understanding each mode is key to mastering the game. This detailed guide will walk you through everything you need to know.
Story Mode
Story Mode is the heart of Sonic Heroes, where you'll experience the main narrative through the eyes of four distinct teams. Each team has its own unique story progression, boss encounters, and motivations, culminating in a grand finale.
- Team Selection: At the start, you'll choose one of four teams:
- Team Sonic: (Sonic, Tails, Knuckles) - The balanced, all-around team. Ideal for beginners. Their story focuses on stopping Dr. Eggman.
- Team Dark: (Shadow, Rouge, E-123 Omega) - The powerful, combat-focused team. Their story revolves around Shadow's past and Omega's revenge.
- Team Rose: (Amy, Cream, Big) - The easier, more forgiving team. Perfect for new players or those looking for a more relaxed experience. Their goal is to find Sonic, Chocola, and Froggy.
- Team Chaotix: (Espio, Charmy, Vector) - The unique, mission-based team. Their stages often involve specific objectives beyond just reaching the goal. They are hired by a mysterious client.
- Progression: To advance, you must complete each stage, including its Act 1 and Act 2, and then defeat the corresponding boss. Successfully clearing a stage unlocks the next one for your chosen team.
- Chaos Emeralds: Collecting all seven Chaos Emeralds for a team is crucial for unlocking the true ending. These are obtained by completing Special Stages, which are accessed by finding a Special Key and reaching the goal ring with it.
- Final Story: After completing Story Mode with all four teams and collecting all 28 Chaos Emeralds (7 for each team), the "Final Story" will unlock. This ultimate challenge unites all teams against the game's true antagonist.
Challenge Mode
Challenge Mode allows you to replay any stage you've already cleared in Story Mode. This is invaluable for improving your performance, hunting for A-Ranks, or simply enjoying your favorite levels without the narrative interruptions.
- Stage Selection: Access this mode from the main menu. You can select any team and any stage that has been completed in Story Mode.

- Enemies Defeated: Destroying as many enemies as possible. use your Power formation's attacks.

- Unlocking Content: Achieving A-Ranks across all stages and teams can unlock various bonuses, including emblems and potentially new features.
2P Battle Mode
