This boss is a giant ghost that can only be damaged when the room is lit. The arena is a dark chamber with light switches on the walls. Ghosts will appear if the room is dark.

  • Phase 1: The room is dark, and the ghost is invulnerable.
  • Sonic Strategy: You need to hit the light switches (usually by jumping into them) to illuminate the room. Once lit, the ghost becomes vulnerable. Perform Spin Attacks on the ghost's head. The light will eventually fade, so you need to be quick.
  • Knuckles Strategy: Knuckles' ability to climb walls makes reaching the light switches much easier. Glide to a switch, punch it, then glide towards the ghost for a punch attack. Repeat until defeated.
  • Weakness: The ghost's head, only when the room is lit.
  • Reward: Clear the zone, proceed to Lava Reef Zone.
