The Egg Turtle is the first boss you'll face in Leaf Storm Zone, piloted by Dr. Eggman. This boss has a relatively simple attack pattern, making it a good introduction to boss mechanics. The Egg Turtle will primarily attack by extending its neck and trying to bite you, or by launching small projectiles from its mouth. Its weak point is the cockpit on its back, which is protected by a shell.
Phase 1: Attacking the Shell
The Egg Turtle will move back and forth across the screen. When it extends its neck to bite, jump over its head. After it retracts, it will often expose its back for a brief moment. This is your chance to attack. As Sonic, use a Homing Attack on the shell. As Blaze, use a Burst Dash. You'll need to hit the shell several times to break it. Be careful of the projectiles it occasionally fires; they are easily dodged by jumping or moving. Maintain your Boost Gauge by collecting rings that appear or by hitting the boss.
Phase 2: Exposing the Cockpit
Once the shell is broken, the cockpit will be exposed. The Egg Turtle's attacks remain similar, but now, after it performs an attack (like biting or firing projectiles), the cockpit will briefly open. This is your window to deal damage. Jump and use a Homing Attack (Sonic) or Burst Dash (Blaze) directly on the cockpit. You'll need to hit it several times. The boss will eventually be defeated after enough hits. Focus on dodging its attacks and striking when the cockpit is open. Use your Boost if you need to quickly close the distance for an attack or escape a dangerous situation.
