The primary objective is to reach the end of the Act as quickly as possible, collecting Rings along the way. Rings are crucial for survival; collecting 100 Rings grants an extra life, and having at least one Ring protects you from a single hit from an enemy or hazard. Keep an eye out for the iconic Badniks, such as the Moto Bug and Buzz Bomber. A quick spin dash or a well-timed jump can dispatch them easily. You'll encounter more verticality, requiring you to utilize springs and platforms to ascend. The pace remains high, and maintaining your speed is key to navigating the terrain effectively. Watch out for the Buzz Bombers that fly in patterns, dropping projectiles. The terrain can become more hazardous, with pits and moving platforms. Remember to use your spin dash to break through certain walls or gain extra height. There are also more opportunities to collect large clusters of Rings, so try to grab them all. The monitor boxes in this Act might contain the same power-ups as Act 1, but their placement can be more challenging to reach. Some sections may require precise jumping to avoid falling into pits. The end of Act 2 features a more elaborate goalpost mechanism. Successfully reaching it with speed will contribute to your overall score and the potential for a good ranking. If you're playing with Tails, he can often reach areas Sonic might struggle with, so coordinate your movements.
Chemical Plant Zone Act 1
